Rolland "Rollie" Roy Permann, age 84 of Parkston and formerly of Yankton and Tripp, SD passed away early Sunday morning, June 21, 2015 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston, SD. Private family services were held. Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton is in care of the arrangements.
Rolland "Rollie" Roy was born on July 24, 1930 in Tripp, SD to Gustave and Rose (Konstanz) Permann. He grew up in Tripp and graduated from Tripp High School and continued his education at Southern State Teachers College. On January 9, 1951, he entered into the United States Air Force serving his country until January 14, 1955 when he received an honorable discharge. Rollie was a school teacher in Irene, Deadwood, Doland, and then Woonsocket.
Those who will cherish his memory are his son, Michael Permann of Platte, SD; brother, Larry Permann of Paradise, CA; sister, Lou (George) Shelley of Brookings, SD; many grandchildren and niece, Jane (Joel) Deboer of Brookings, SD.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Permann, his parents, and brother, Melvin Permann.
