Obituary of Shirley Marie Bouska

Shirley Marie Bouska, age 78, of Yankton passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 surrounded by her loving family as a result of injury sustained by a fall at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 Am, Monday, September 28, 2015 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Yankton, with Rev. Dani Jo Ninke officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Kaylor, SD at approximately 1:45 PM. Visitations will be 5 to 7 PM, Sunday, with the family present at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Shirley Marie (Kaldun) Bouska, daughter of Samuel and Clara (Herr) Kaldun, was born on May 22nd 1937 in Wagner South Dakota. She was raised on a farm outside of Delmont, SD. She married Lawrence Bouska on September 11, 1955 and to this marriage seven children were born. They spent most of their life in Parkston, SD and moved to Yankton SD in 1985. Shirley worked hard throughout her life and retired in 2008 after working at Yesterday's Cafe for several years. Shirley's family and beloved cat Cheyenne "goof" were her joy. Shirley is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Kaldun (Cynthia) of Alexandria, SD and Roland Kaldun (Judy) of Yankton, SD; five children: Steve Bouska of Yankton, SD, Julie Rice (Ray) of Spearfish, SD, Connie Faulk and fiance', Dan Fitch of Yankton SD, Stephanie Bouska of Yankton SD, and Stacy Bouska and fiancé, Darin Mann of Yankton, SD; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother, Marvin Kaldun, two sons, Jeffery and Loni Bouska and close friend, Lawrence Bouska.
