Memorial Mass for Keith and Patricia Clark, who died July 20, 2013 and December 3, 2012 respectively, will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 5, 2013 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Randy Phillips officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the parish cemetery. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, is assisting with the service details.
Patricia was born September 27, 1933 in Beresford, SD to Patrick and Josephine (Hech) Logsdon. Her family moved to Wakonda, SD in 1935. She attended Pleasant Valley and Ellis White Schools in Clay County, SD, Wakonda Public School, and Irene Public High School in South Dakota. She entered Sacred Heart Convent, Yankton, SD in September, 1949. She excelled in music and received her degree in music. She taught in several South Dakota parochial schools. She left the convent in 1975 and was united in marriage to Keith Clark on May 22, 1976 in Omaha, NE.
Patricia is survived by her sisters, Sylvia Bonine of Jefferson, SD, and Rosemary Heirigs of Yankton, SD; sister-in-law, Lillian Logsdon of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law, Dale Schooley of Omaha, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harold, David and Conrad, sisters, Margaret Schmidt and Eleanor Schooley, sisters-in-law, Ethelyn Logsdon and Norma Logsdon, brothers-in-law, Fred Lass, Pete Schmidt, Donald Bonine and Donald Heirigs.
Keith was born March 23, 1936 in Red Oak, IA to Arthur and Dorothy Clark. He grew up in Red Oak, IA and attended Red Oak High School. He started working for McAlpine Pontiac and G.M.C. dealership in Red Oak as a mechanic and later was named shop foreman. The family moved to Des Moines, IA where he taught auto mechanics for a few years. He then took the position as a salesman for Sun Electric in Omaha, NE where he later made Branch Manager. He was promoted to the Minneapolis Branch Manager and moved to Minneapolis with Elma Irene and Mark. It was during this period while working with Sun Electric that he taught various classes on auto testing in South Dakota, that he met Patricia at the college she was attending. They were united in marriage on May 22, 1976 in Omaha, NE. He worked with Sun Electric in Houston, TX and ended in Crystal, IL until the company went bankrupt. He then started Car Check Equipment Company selling and leasing auto starting equipment, which besides Patricia was his one great love.
Keith is survived by his sons, Robert (Karen) and Mark (Barbara) Clark; granddaughter, Chelsea Clark; and his great-granddaughter, Lydia Clark.
