Obituary of Anna Mae Hauger

Anna Mae Hauger, age 79, of Yankton, passed away Saturday, June 14th, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton. Graveside services then lunch following at St. Columba at Mayfield with Father Mark Lichter officiating. Visitations will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM and scripture service at 7:30 PM at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the mass on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Mike Lane, Matthew Lane, Nick Hauger, Tony Hauger, Shane Hauger, Ty Hauger, Zachary Hauger, and Layne Hauger.
Anna Mae was born September 21, 1934 in Yankton, SD to Arthur and Anna (Rudd) McGinnis. She attended Yankton High School and then attended Hair by Stewart in Sioux Falls, SD. She married Leo Hauger in 1952 in Yankton, SD. They farmed two years north of Mayfield, then moved south of Mayfield and farmed for 40 years. They moved to Yankton in 1993. She was a member of the Sacred Heart and St. Columba Alter Society. Anna Mae was witty, fun loving, and could never spend too much time with family. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all of her heart. She always enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by four sons: Randy (Phyllis) Hauger of Irene, SD, Danny Hauger of Yankton, SD, Wayne (Teri) Hauger of Eagle River, AK, and Chris (Jenni) Hauger of Yankton, SD; two daughters, Julie (Donald) Lane of Houston, TX and Jane (Timothy) Goeden of Yankton, SD; daughter-in-law, Marlene Hauger of Yankton, SD, 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Doris Sees and Elaine Hauger; brother-in-law, Joe Hauger, many nieces and nephews and many dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, her parents, six brothers and sisters, a son Larry, a grandson, Andrew, and other relatives.
