Dorothy Ann Pasco, age 77, of Yankton, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton, SD with Rev. Ken Lulf officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton, SD. Visitations will begin at 5:00 PM, Friday, August 8, 2014 with a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, SD. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are: Marcus Miller, Seth Pasco, Katie (Miller) Noble, Tyler Huether, Kendra (Pasco) Kudrna, Daniel Miller, Grant Huether, Jackson Pasco, Sam Pasco, and Presley Pasco.
Dorothy Ann Pasco was born May, 11, 1937 near Irene, SD. She was the daughter of William and Ann (Christensen) Hauger. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Columba Catholic Church in rural Mayfield, SD. Dorothy attended school in Irene, SD, graduating from Irene High School in 1955.
On October 12, 1959, Dorothy was united in marriage with Wayne Pasco at St. Columba Catholic Church in Mayfield, SD. Their marriage of 40 years was blessed with four children: Jeffrey, Lori, Jennifer, and Jason. Together they made their home in Yankton, SD and successfully operated their own masonry construction business until Wayne's passing in 1999. Dorothy was also a familiar face at the local Maurices where she worked for over 20 years. She was a member of both Sacred Heart and St. Benedict Catholic Churches in Yankton.
Dorothy enjoyed tremendously the social interaction with family and friends. Her favorite activities were golfing, playing cards, crossword puzzles, bowling, watching her children and grandchildren playing sports, and trips to the casino. She hardly missed morning coffee and/or breakfast with friends. She cherished the family golfing and casino excursions with Wayne and her siblings and in-laws.
Dorothy passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in Yankton, SD at the age of 77 years battling cancer. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Blessed be her memory.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Jeff Pasco and his wife, Dianne of Hutchinson, MN, Lori Pasco-Bonney and her husband, Don of Winston, OR, Jenny Huether and her husband, Gregg of Charlotte, NC, and Jason Pasco of Yankton, SD; grandchildren: Marcus (Magdalen) Miller of Mesa, AZ, Seth Pasco of Hutchinson, MN, Katie Miller (Kevin Noble) of Yakima, WA, Tyler (Shannon) Huether of Sioux Falls, SD, Kendra (Mitch) Kudrna of Dickinson, ND, Daniel Miller of Cottage Grove, OR, Grant Huether of Charlotte, NC, Jackson Pasco of Yankton, SD, Sam Pasco of Hutchinson, MN, and Presley Pasco of Yankton, SD; great grandchildren: Brodi and Gavin Miller, and Mason Huether; siblings: Clarence (Rose) Hauger of Yankton, SD, Richard (Maris) Hauger of Harrisburg, SD, Carol (Roger) O'Gara of Elkhorn, NE, Gloria (Jim) Storgaard of Irene, SD; and many other in-laws, relatives, and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne on May 4, 1999, her parents, William and Ann Hauger, siblings, Darlene Hirschman and Thomas Hauger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to The Center, 900 Whiting Drive Yankton, SD 57078.
