Suzanne D. Mogen, age 80, of Yankton, SD passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the United Church of Christ (Congregational), Yankton, with Rev. Molly Carlson officiating. Private family burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, is assisting with service details.
Suzanne was born February 5, 1934 in Mitchell, SD to Ernest and Adelaide (Wattson) Dannenbring. She graduated from high school in Chamberlain, SD and attended Yankton College from 1952 to 1954. She received her BA from USD in 1956. Suzanne taught elementary music at Fort Hood Military Base from 1956 to 1958 and taught English and music in Alexandria, SD in 1959. She was a teacher and church organist at Killeen, TX, Alexandria, SD, Avon, SD, Mobridge, SD and Faulkton, SD. She was a member of the P.E.O., church choir, Alpha Phi, Yankton Concert Association Board, Yankton Forum and Yankton Area Arts.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Iro of Yankton, SD; sons, Jay (Naela) Mogen of Peoria, AZ and Bruce (Bonnie) Mogen of Dell Rapids, SD; daughters, Lynn (Frank) Mason of Hot Springs, SD and Anne (Scott) Palmeri of Hackensack, NJ; grandchildren: Alex Mason, Emily Mason, Cristian Mogen, Alejandro Mogen, Mariano Mogen and Brett Mogen; brother, John (Ruth-Ann) Dannenbring of Yankton, SD and sister, Janice Morton of Brainerd, MN.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Adelaide Dannenbring.
