Margaret Harts, age 96 of Yankton, SD, passed away early Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton, SD with Rev. Robert Wullweber officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton, SD. Visitations will begin at 6:00 PM, Thursday, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, with a rosary at 7:00 PM followed by a Scripture service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers are her granddaughters: Jean Friedenbach, Cori Smith, Sarah Kurpgeweit, Julie Zenisek, Cindy Schwager, and Rochelle Jacobsen. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Dean Harts, Denny Harts, Dale Harts, Danny Harts, Jeffrey Harts, Joshua Harts, Jesse Harts, Joel Harts, Larry Eilers, Danny Eilers, and Alan Eilers.
She has 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Margaret was born October 19, 1918 to Thomas & Hazel (Pugh) Pesicka. She attended Cement country school & Yankton High School. She was a member of Women of the Moose and lifetime member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She worked for JC Penney for 29 years.
She married Walter Harts on August 17, 1939. He passed away June 7, 1979.
Surviving are sons, Ronald (Myrna) Harts of Stacy MN, Gerald (Patricia) Harts of Yankton, SD, Darrold (Kathy) Harts of Norfolk, NE, Darwin (Cheryl) Harts of Norfolk, NE and daughter, Laverla (Don) Eilers of Mission Hill, SD.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Frances Schramm Goeken and Mildred Hunhoff, brothers, Thomas (Henry) Pesicka and one infant brother.
