My sincere condolences to Meredeth and all of Don's family. Safe to say he was one of my dad's (Chet Tesdall) best friends. So many fishing, hunting and Ponca rodeo stories. Suppers on a Friday night or Saturday night at a local establishment or at the house that is now part of Broom Tree. No lack of laughter when those two were together. I am guessing they met each other in Heaven with a BIG SMILE, but I wonder which one told the first joke? Rest Easy, Don, you were a great friend to our family, and I am sure Heaven is a bit more fun with your presence there.

Q: What will you never forget about Donald?
A: Don is an extremely close family friend. He was more like a brother to my dad than a best friend. Time, distance and the trials of life made it difficult to keep in touch. Don was fun loving and couldn't pass up an opportunity to make everyone laugh. I remember him showing me how to ride a Shetland pony when I was just a kid. It was hilarious to see him riding it because he was so tall. I also remember him throwing me the keys to his truck when I was just a young boy. I have countless memories of Don from our vacations when we were kids, spending time on Lake Oahe and staying at his homes with his wonderful family. Rest in peace brother. Hope to see you soon.

Don was so helpful to me when I moved to Calumet helping to choose the best plants for my yard. His garden is so beautiful! I felt fortunate to learn from the best.
