Kevin Timothy Vogt, son of Donald and Barbara (Peterson) Vogt, was born on May 1. 1966 in Creighton. NE. The family later moved to Yankton, SD. Kevin was raised in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School. Following graduation, He attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD for two years where he pursued his passion for photography.
Later in life Kevin relocated to Sioux Falls, SD. He met his wife Trish in 2005. Kevin and Trish began dating in 2006. They were married on October 11, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV with family and friends present. He had two daughters, Keeley Shae and Isabella Jean. Kevin’s greatest pride and joy were his girls. He loved sharing humor, knowledge, experiences and teaching them new things.
He was employed for many years in the area of behavioral health. Kevin was a long-time employee of Avera McKennan Behavioral Health. There he worked directly with children and adolescents. His ability to see the big picture and view a given situation from multiple points of view helped him to become very effective in his role as a Behavioral Health Technician. Kevin celebrated 20 years with Avera in January of 2023. It became necessary for Kevin to leave his employment soon after due to limitations related to his health.
Those who know Kevin well will remember his passion for listening to and discussing music, photography and watching the Atlanta Braves. He was also known for his humor. Kevin especially enjoyed Listening to Dio, Queensryche, Rush and more recently Chevelle and Murder By Death to name a few. One of Kevin’s favorite pastimes was sharing (his love for) music with his wife and daughters. He also liked to spend time in nature, camping and playing chess. Kevin had a gift for photography from a young age. He was especially talented in the areas of concert/band photography and video and capturing special moments in nature. Kevin was very proud to have passed along his love and talent for photography to his daughter Keeley.
