Judith Wiedmeier, age 73, passed away, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Sister James Care Center in Yankton. A visitation and luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Spring Valley Lutheran Church in rural Viborg (44707 289th St, Viborg SD 57070). Burial of Judith’s cremated remains will follow the visitation at the Spring Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery at 3:00 pm. Online condolences may be sent at www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com.
Judith (Judy) Christine Wiedmeier was born in Yankton, SD to Loran and Margie Wiedmeier on August 26th, 1950. She grew up on the family farm and later graduated from Viborg High School in May of 1968.
In 2013, Judy ended up at the Wakonda Heritage Home and then later transferred to Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton to be closer to some family. Judy had a personal love affair with anything chocolate, candy, and of course her Diet Pepsi.
She always had a smile on her face, loved to tell stories, and not to mention, flirt with all the male nurses and doctors that she came into contact with.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Loran and Margie Wiedmeier, her brother Randy Wiedmeier, and several aunts and uncles.
Judy is survived by her three children, Daniel D Boettcher, Khristine (Eugene) Forehand, and Loran (Holly) Boettcher, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Kari Wiedmeier, her aunt Carol Peterson and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
