Obituary of Joseph R. Massey
Joseph Robert Massey (Joe) was born on August 20, 1960 in Yankton, SD to Robert and Janice [Haberer] Massey. Joe went to country school till 4th grade and then went to Menno Public School. He graduated in 1979. He worked for various farmers, Stuart Huber, Heinie Farms, Guthmiller Trucking, Valley Ag Service and Svartoien Harvest Crew where he traveled to Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and all the way back to North Dakota just to name a few. He enjoyed to going fishing, working with smaller vintage farm machinery and gardening. He liked to use the produce he raised to cook with. Joe collected John Deere tractors, enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He also enjoyed going to the colonies to visit, eat and get different foods they made. Joseph loved to pick on his nieces and nephews and loved doing any kind of farm work.
Joseph is survived by his mom and dad Robert and Janice Massey; brothers: Jim (Deb), Bill, Steve, Larry, Dan (Debra), Frank (Stacy) and Raymond (Audrey); sisters, Valerie (Les) and Helen (Tom); 20 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Rose, Massey, Lawrence and Marcella Haberer and one niece, Alexis Marie Luttmann.
