Obituary of John W. Felton
John was born June 21, 1945 in The Dalles, Oregon to William and Berenice (Burris) Felton. He was the 5th of fifteen children, 7 brothers and 7 sisters. He grew up in Oregon and Idaho where he learned the importance of hard work and was inspired to travel. He first tried to do this by joining the Navy. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he met Florence (Ronfeldt) and got married. They were married for 15 years and had four children. Ray, Carla, Jonni and Carrie.
John also worked at IBP in South Sioux City and spent the end of his working career driving truck, which continued to allow him to travel all over the country. He was a recovering alcoholic for 41 years and was an avid member of many different clubs throughout his recovery. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, working on vehicles, taking walks, coffee and conversation with others. He will be remembered for his thirst for knowledge, sarcastic wit and endless understanding while listening and talking with family, friends and anyone who would partake.
John is survived by his brothers: William Joseph, Jr., Kenneth Allen, Donald Eric, Trent Edward and Mel Joseph; his sisters: Gloria Nanette and Denise Evalin; his four children: Raymond, Carla, Jonni and Carrie; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
