Obituary of Yvonne S. Adam

            Yvonne Stevie Adam, the daughter of James and Albina (Stluka) Crha, was born on December 26, 1934 near Wagner, SD.  Her early years were spent on the family’s first farm near Clear Lake where Yvonne grew up.  The family moved to another farm north of Avon and it was there where she attended high school, graduating at Avon High School Class of 1952.  Yvonne then worked at Rivins Grocery Store in Tyndall until she met her future husband, Emil E. Adam of Tabor.

            Yvonne and Emil were united in marriage on October 30, 1962 in Wagner, and to this union one daughter, Charlene was born.  They farmed east of Tabor for all their married life and Yvonne also worked at the Coyote Golf Factory in Tabor and at Yankton Livestock Sale Barn office on sale days where her husband worked for several years.  She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor and their Altar Society.  She was very active with the Tabor Czech Days celebration.  Yvonne was proud of her Czech heritage and loved to teach her grandchildren about their background.  Her hobbies included listening to Polka music and baking kolaches and spending family time with her children and grandchildren and all the memories she made with them who she treasured dearly.  She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren the Czech language and teaching them how to make kolaches.

            Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Keith Sudbeck; her beloved grandchildren, Skyler and Mackenzie; other relatives and friends.

            Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Emil on October 20, 2002; her brother, Thomas Crha and her sister, Dorothy Walloch.
