Franklin “Frank” Osborn, age 84 of Mission Hill, SD passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton with his family by his side. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton with Rev. Dave Gunderson officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post #791 Honor Guard, Yankton and the SDARNG Honor Guard, Sioux Falls. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Honorary urn bearers will be all his grandchildren. Online condolences may be sent at www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com.
Frank was born December 28, 1932 in Yankton, SD to Warren and Ella (Krause) Osborn. He served in the United States Army for 2 years during the Korean War. Frank married Mary Ann Peterka on January 27, 1957 in Las Vegas, NV. They lived in Yankton for a short time before moving to California. It is there that they raised their three children. Frank and Mary Ann moved the family back to Yankton in 1973 to be closer to family. After returning, Frank worked at the Human Services Center (Farming) and Alumax.
Frank had a love for fishing and hunting but his greatest passion was bowling.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Mary Ann, sons Ozzie (Donna) and Frank Ray (Cindy); daughter Ella (Randy) Tooker; brother Larry(Kathryn); sister Dolores (Jack) Lefler; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers, one great-grandson, nieces and nephews.
