To Diane and Family,
So very sorry to hear about Earl. My thoughts and prayers are with you all through this difficult time! I work as a CNA out at Avera Sister James Care Center on the Country Neighborhood and I had the pleasure of meeting and caring for Earl. He was a great man and he will definitely be missed! He always had a great laugh, and a very contagious smile! I read the obituary and it was very lovely and I learned a lot of things that I never knew about him. Prayers for healing through this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace!
God Bless,
Brittney Olfert

A super nice man who always seemed to have smile on his face in the halls of YHS!

Uncle Earl was loved by his many nieces and nephews of the 'Pollmann clan.' He was always the entertainer at family gatherings - singing to us kids and playing his guitar. I'll never forget his rendition of "How much is that doggy in the window?" I learned to water ski behind his boat in Yankton as a young boy as well. Because of his expert boat driving skills, I got up and out of the water right away! He was a fun guy & very generous. He gave me 50 cents on a dare that I could not eat all of the mashed potatoes and gravy that I had on my plate at another family gathering at a big old fashioned buffet style restaurant at Luverne, MN. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Love,
Bob Pollmann - nephew

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Your home was a wonderful place to stop, play, and converse. Laughs and smiles were always being exhibited!
May your father continue to guide you to making this Earth better. His love is always there, as well as, the people whom he touched and made a difference with!

So sorry to hear about Earls passing. I met Earl when my dad (Richard Dykstra) was in Prince of peace rehab and Diane was there also. We got to be pretty good friends as the time went on. Diane was such a nice person and Earl was so happy and friendly. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

My condolences to the family. My wife Diane and I lived in Yankton and attended the UCC church in the 1980s and after job changes we moved from Yankton and now reside in Madison, SD. We knew Earl and Diane from the UCC and always enjoyed conversing with them. At the time, I believe the kids were off to college. Earl holds a special place in my heart when after a layoff, he gave up some of his janitorial duties so that I could fill the gap during this time. This was a wonderful act of kindness and so much appreciated at the time.
Perhaps it is fate or perhaps it was in God's interest that my daughter Brittney is living and working in Yankton. We recently learned that one of the residences at Sister James was a one Mr. Reese. She told us about her visit with his wife Diane and at I don't think that at the time Diane knew that Brittney was our daughter. I feel it such a blessing that Brittney was able to have crossed paths in life with Diane. Otherwise we may not have know about Earl's passing.
So it is with our deepest condolences that we say this Diane and all of the family. And to Earl a final farewell to a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend of friends and the community. May God grant you peace through the fond memories that were shared during his life.

My sympathies to the family. I was a fellow singer in the Bass section of the Bon Homme Mens Chorus. I always enjoyed singing beside his wonderful, booming Bass voice and sharing in his keen sense of humor and logic.

Thoughts and prayers to your family. The Reeses were only a mile and half down our road in the Salem Lutheran community. Cousin Earl was closers in age to my older brothers but he always was a kind soul to me a much younger cousin. Later years in was a privilege to experience Earl's hospitality at the Logan Hilton and even the opportunity to enjoy a game of Wist.

Dear Mike and family, we extend our prayers and sympathies to you all. I had Mr. Reese as a teacher and loved every minute of his class. He made it so fun. I was also lucky enough to see him at Majestic Bluffs a few time while visiting my own father. He still had that smile on his face. This earth was lucky to have him, and now heaven is.
