Obituary of Robert L Stepp

STEPP ROBERT

Robert Stepp age 92 of Yankton, SD passed away early Monday, January 29, 2024 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD.  Visitations will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, February 1, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am Friday, February 2 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Yankton with Father Bob Lacey officiating. Online condolences may be sent at www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com. Robert was born on May 13, 1931 to Peter and Mary Stepp of Bloomfield, NE. He was united in marriage to Maxine Domke on April 25, 1954 in Sauk Centre, MN. Bob was baptized and confirmed at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, and he attended K-8th grade at St. Andrew's Catholic School. He graduated high school in 1949 in Bloomfield, NE.

He moved to Browerville, MN where he and his brother-in-law managed a hardware store for his father. He met his future wife, Maxine Domke and they were united in marriage.

They moved to Jamestown, ND in 1955 where he started his banking career. This career took him to Worthington, MN and Luverne, MN and finally to Yankton, SD.

Bob was involved with the Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, the Elks and was a member of the Luverne Country Club and Hillcrest Country Club.

Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. Bob and Max loved to travel as they went to every state west of the Mississippi River, Canada and Mexico.

Bob was proceeded in death by his son, Bradley S. Stepp and infant grandson, Timothy James Stepp, his parents, two sisters, their spouses, and numerous friends.

He is survived by his spouse, Maxine Stepp of Yankton, SD. His daughter, Cynthia M. Stepp of Sioux Falls, SD, his sons, Daniel L. Stepp and his wife Carol (Jennings) of Sioux Falls, SD and Michael J. Stepp of Sioux Falls, SD. Two granddaughters, Alexandra Lee (Stepp) and husband Tanner Tracy of Larchwood, IA and Maggie Jo Stepp and fiance Kyle Lyons of Sioux Falls, SD. Two great grandchildren, Lillian Michelle Tracy, and Reggie J. Tracy.

Honorary pallbearers are his children and grandchildren.
