Obituary of Alice I. Kutilek

Alice I. Kutilek, 97, of Vermillion, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Center in Howard, SD. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 10 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion with Fr. Terry Anderson officiating. Visitations will be Thursday, November 9 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion from 5-7 pm with a 7:00 pm wake service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Vermillion. Online condolences may be sent at www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com. Alice got her fondest desire granted on November 4, 2023. For the past few years, she has desired to be with her deceased husband, Frank.  Being the last of 10 children to pass, she had a lot of relatives and friends to welcome her to her eternal home. I’m sure she is dancing a polka with Frank playing the accordion. She is so happy!

Alice was born December 19, 1925, to Willard and Vina (Chamberlain) Bursell in a farmhouse in Vermillion SD. She Married Frank Kutilek on May 2, 1943.  Her baptism and confirmation were in 1945.

Alice and Frank adopted Bonnie, Jenny, and Casandra, giving them a loving home. She would always say that Clayton, Twila and Ashley, her grandchildren, were her pride and joy.
