Obituary of Darrell Dingman
Darrell was born March 25, 1943 on the family farm to Earl and Lydia (Hoff) Dingman. Darrell grew up on the family farm near Scotland South Dakota and graduated from Scotland High School May of 1961. On September 19, 1965 Darrell was united in marriage to Mary Ann Friederich in Kaylor South Dakota. Darrell was a member of the South Dakota National Guard, where he honorably served for twenty six years.
Darrell worked at the South Dakota Human Services Center in Yankton and the Scotland Creamery. He worked for the Bon Homme County Highway Department for over 30 years. He also worked part time for Gemar’s Market in Scotland, Sharon Township in Hutchison County and several area farmers.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of almost 52 years of Scotland, SD; children: Wanda (Jim) Miller of Tabor, SD, Julie (Tom) Harkema of West Salem WI, Jonathon Dingman and fiancée, Mara Eighmy of rural Scotland, SD and Corey Dingman of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren: Michael (Sueann) Miller, Tyler Miller, Joshua Harkema, Matthew Harkema, Tritt Dingman, Anadia Gibson and Asiah Gibson; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Jemma Miller; his sister, Twyla Mehlhaf; one brother, Alan (Phyllis) Dingman; sister-in-law. Darlene Dingman; brother and sister-in-law, William and Mary Friederich.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois Ann; brother, Orville; two nephews, Mark Friederich and David Dingman and mother and father-in-law, Oscar and Anna Friederich.
