Family of Alice Hoesing,
My Prayers and thoughts are with you at this sorrowful time.
I was also a graduate of Sacred Heart School of Nursing, graduating in 1963. Some of us were selected to do our clinical Peds in Sioux Falls. So, I didn't have the privilege to work with Alice. However, working on medical floor-there certainly was some contact. She was a very efficient Pediatric Nurse.
Then there was the fact she was very involved with the alumni.
Plus I volunteered to assist with the funeral committee at St. Benedict's Church. She was in charge of the committee for many years and all things always went well.
I'm sure God said-A job well done Alice.
God Bless all of you.

Sorry to hear of your loss, she is now at rest, watching & guiding each of you thru your daily lives. Keep her memories close to your heart. I enjoy reading all the comments from her life, especially working in Peds-I first met her when attending nurses training at Sacred Heart School of Nursing, 60'-63' and I worked evenings in Peds the fall of 64'-she was a pleasure to work with and taught us many things. I also enjoyed seeing her daughter-in-law, Lynn, from Viborg, as I worked at the Viborg Hospital for 18 years-miss seeing her at the Drug Store there. We are remembering Alice and you in our daily Prayers. Jean & Lyle Hauger

What a beautiful life Alice lived! She was such a caring person! I remember when our daughter had a severe case of croup. It was a worrisome time for us as young parents, but Alice always reassured us that everything would be alright. She shared helpful suggestions and hints on making her recovery complete. It was a difficult time for us, but the sight of Alice on duty was comforting and reassuring! She was one of those 'angels on earth' who has given of herself for many, many years! A person whose legacy will be an example of giving to others and truly making a difference to so many! Rest In Peace Alice.

I was sadden to read of Alice's passing. I worked with Alice at Avera Sacred Heart many years ago. She was one of the first nurses I met when I first started to work there. I didn't work in Peds often but when I did I worked with Alice. She was always there with that little grin! Her heart was there for "her kids" and she gave the best care to them! She went above and beyond for them! She was truly a credit to our profession! She will be greatly missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
